Alternative Firmware Update Instructions
If ReeFi failed to complete over the air firmware update, the user interface file system could be corrupted.
Try one of the following to complete the firmware update:
Option 1 – Over the internet update:
- Reboot Uno2 (unplug power, wait 5 secs, then plug power).
- Open new browser from phone or laptop on same wifi network.
- Enter url: http://ip_address/firmware
Replace the ip_address with the actual ip address shown on the Uno2’s display screen. - When firmware update both GUI and Firmware have completed, close browser.
Option 2 – Offline update (use device that have wifi such as phone, tablet, or laptop):
- Reboot Uno2 (unplug power, wait 5 secs, then plug power).
- Download and save these 2 files (do not rename) ReeFi_LED_FW.bin and ReeFi_LED_GUI.bin:
https://www.reefi-lab.com/firmware/ - Open new browser from phone or laptop on same wifi network.
Enter url: http://ip_address/ForcedAP
Replace the ip_address with the actual ip address shown on the Uno2’s display screen.
This will disconnect Uno2 from your wifi network and Uno2 will now generate it’s on WiFi network. - From the same device you complete Step 1, connect to Uno2’s wifi (WiFi Setup instructions step 1-4).
If you do not see Uno2’s wifi, power cycle Uno2 to reboot. - From new browser, enter url: http://192.168.4.1/fw_local
- Choose File for both ReeFi_LED_GUI.bin and ReeFi_LED_FW.bin downloaded in Step 1, then click on Upload.
- When both GUI and FW update have completed, close browsers.
- Follow WiFi Setup instructions to reconnect Uno2 to your wifi network.
